Break patterns, be creative and give credit

Break patterns, be creative and give credit

Because we don't want everything, every city and everybody to look and act the same.

Because we don't want everything, every city and everybody to look and act the same.

Next time you’re eating in a restaurant, just take a minute to think about what would happen if you were to blend all the drinks and food in the room in one big bowl.

Now imagine painting on canvas: if you were to mix all the colors on the palette, you would get the same result: a nasty barf-a-like brown color. According to the experts, white light contains all the colors. But in reality, if you were to mix all the colors together, you would not be left with innocent white. Instead, you would be left with something distinctly brown in color.

In today’s society, everything is going at double speed. Sadly, the passing of each new day only adds to that sense of acceleration. People haven’t got time to stop and catch their breath; to think for one minute before being pushed aside by another stressed up guy trying to carve a career for himself. Along with all the people trying to achieve their goals and accomplish their dreams, raw materials and excrement are being transported around the planet at an ever-increasing pace. We travel to the other side of the planet on vacation; we buy new cars from Japan; we eat fruit grown in South America and we drink wine bottled in Bordeaux. So what? Well if this continues, everything will turn brown…

This is The Brown Theory

This is The Brown Theory

The wine you buy in your local supermarket is made from French grapes crushed by someone’s feet – it’s sent to Sweden where it’s spilled onto the tablecloth Grandma gave you all those years ago. God rest her soul. The cloth is then thrown into some trash can in Sweden. The banana skin you just threw out of your car window was probably grown in Colombia. The old Honda that started out as iron ore mined and transported from Russia breaks down in a little village in Austria. And last but not least, that mushroom omelet you ate before catching your flight to that paradise island has probably ended up at some Pakistani farmer’s front porch as a block of ice after you took a shit mid-flight.

You see, all this shit we consume gets taken from one place on earth and dumped somewhere else when we’re done with it. If we don’t want to mess up the balance of nature, the banana skin should be returned to Colombia, the grapes to France, the iron ore to Russia and so on.

Today, people travel with airplanes like they once traveled with horse and cart not more than 200 years ago. Millions of people travel every day – we import, consume and throw away. They did that 200 years ago, of course, but not nearly as fast as we do today.

We’re going too fast. And it’s only going to get faster. Imagine the concept of time as a movie – then press fast forward on your video recorder. All the objects on earth will change place at an incredible rate and the earth will not have time to recover. The effect is similar to blending the drinks in the bowl or mixing all the colors on the palette – everything is going to turn brown.

Now you see – the Brown Theory not only affects the environment, but also people. Every day, we’re brainwashed with information about how we should act, dress and live. As you grow up, kids bully other kids that are different in some way and don’t fit into the ‘normal’ pattern. The media try to scare you every day with news to make you question yourself: “Don’t eat that, you’ll get fat! Don’t do that, you’ll get sick! etc. And the very next day, they show you celebrities and your idols doing exactly what you weren’t suppose to do. They are trying to scare you one day so you buy it the next day with their ‘solution’ to the problem. Of course, they want to sell their lousy newspaper, but at the same time they do everything they can to fuck up your mind, make you insecure and make you follow a certain pattern.

Media is broadcasting reality shows for you. So you can sit in your sofa at home, eating your big bag of crisps and drinking coke – while laughing at the fat freaks on TV. Or watching couples fighting, people who want to change their body with surgery or can’t sing etc etc What TF is up with that? Do you think that is funny? That is insane. Let the self-confidence come from within you instead of watching people fail or find someone that is worse than you to make you feel good. Try to laugh about yourself sometimes.

Big brands sell cheap stuff in large quantities so you dress up in the same style as everyone else and so your home can be furnished exactly like millions of other homes – you can be sure that people won’t make fun of you or think that you and weird when you’re walking down the street or when you invite somebody round to your home. And ‘dress code’ – how fun is that? Especially when an entire country begins to dress the same.

Soon every street corner in every city has the same look and feel. It is going to be the same big fast food restaurants and the same small shops open 24/7 on every street. The small genuine shops have to close down for the huge companies with a mass production philosophy. A lot of interesting people with the right knowledge, spirit and passion have to shut their dreams for a soulless commerce. Streets of Rome, Stockholm and New York will soon look the same. Countries begin to look like other countries. Continents aim to look like other continents. Same skin and hair colour? Fuck that. In the end the whole planet is going to be like one big country, no surprises anywhere.

How fun is that?

The Anti Theory

The Anti Theory

When you don’t allow people to be different, people become characterless ‘brown’ machines – stale and colorless. It’s like an army where you are supposed to look, act and speak like everybody else, no room for anyone to be unique.

We encourage difference. We promote companies and people who walk their own way, the ones who break patterns and the ones who have the guts to go against the grain. We like people who are humble and show respect, to the environment and the people around us. Some people only focus on the negative. A lot of people take the easy way out and dislike, hate and intimidate all day long. We like to focus on the positive.

The Brown Theory is not a very nice theory, hmm it seams like everything is going down …that’s exactly what we are saying. So try to live your life the fullest while you are here in this world. We understand that no one is flawless. Everybody makes mistakes sometimes. Never or less we want to encourage you to slow down the ‘brown’ process. Break patterns and take chances. Don’t let the big companies own you, don’t stress. Create some goals. Just create. Be different. Inspire and be inspired.
